Happy Halloween

Don't you love it when Halloween falls on the weekend? We didn't get so lucky this year so we ended up going to a Halloween party at a friends' church on Friday night. Tonight we will be going to the Harvest Festival at our own church.

Regan went this year as a pirate and Erin as Rapunzel from the Tangled movie. Notice Pascal the lizard on her shoulder.

They played lots of fun games like wrapping the mummy, eating donuts on a string, and making popcorn balls.

This little guy is actually one of the twins that are little brothers of a girl on Erin's soccer team. Both boys think Regan is fun. He came dressed as someone on the  SWAT team. Regan saw his handcuffs and said "hey can I cuff you?" He said sure and thought it was fun. Funny kids!

She also thinks it is funny and ironic that these twin boys are named Ethan and Noah.

Seattle Zoo

We recently took advantage of a Groupon I had purchased that was getting ready to expire to go to the Seattle Zoo. We had been to the Tacoma one many time but had never made it up to the Seattle zoo.

Meeting the characters

Can I just say that the one big disappointment for us was the Character Meet and Greet portion of Disney. You watch the commercials and it looks like these characters are running all over the park - WRONG. They are brought out for about small sessions and immediately workers gather the crowd to form a line. These lines often take longer than most lines to a ride. We skipped almost all of these sessions as we just didn't want to waste our time when we could be doing more fun stuff.

But above you can see Jasmine and Aladdin meeting a little girl that was dressed up like Princess Jasmine. So cute!

More Lovin on Noah

Everyone gets a chance to love on Noah a little bit. I think he missed us while we were in Florida ;)

Pop Century

The hotel/resort we stayed at was the Pop Century. What a fun place this was! It was divided into decades. The 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's. We stayed in the 90's. It was a bit of a trek from the front office.

There was lots of fun things to look at including these larger than life sized Mr. and Mrs. Potato heads. I think Erin had more fun chasing all the teeny lizards that were along the sidewalk all the way to our room though.
Here was our home sweet home for the six days we stayed here. The pool you see is one of the three at this hotel and since it was closest to our room it was the one we used. Look the left hand corner of the photo above that is a keyboard (like from a computer monitor) that kids could jump on.

Not sure if you can tell but this Roger the Rabbit was the size of the entire hotel. HUGE!

This may give you a better idea of the scale of these things we saw along the way to our room.

Here is what the inside of our room looked like. Nothing fancy but hey it served its purpose of a place to lay our heads at night. Plus we didn't go to Disney World for a fancy hotel we went for FUN and let me tell you that place delivers! By the way don't you just love Erin's silly pose? She was ready to swim!

Go Flames!

Erin is really doing so well in soccer! She is quite aggressive out there and in her last game scored FOUR points!

This little blondie you see in the blur in the picture above is named Gabby. Erin and Gabby work really well together as a team and often pass to each other and one or the other is able to get it in the goal.
Woo Hoo go Flames (the name of Erin's team)

Visit from Great grandparents

My parents came up to visit a couple weeks ago. Thought I would share some pictures we took. Here is a pic of three generations of men in our family.

Magic Kindgom - Cinderella's castle

We just got back yesterday afternoon from our Disney trip. What a ton of fun!! Here are some pictures that the girls wanted to share with Grandma Meyer of Cinderella's castle at Magic Kingdom.

Here is what it looks like as you are walking down main street in Magic Kingdom.

Here is what is on the inside of the castle. These really detailed tile art pieces of the story of Cinderella on the walls.

When we came out the other side of the castle we say the Evil Stepmother and the Stepsisters. We went up to go try to meet them and get a picture but was told by a Cast member that the girls were on their way to voice lessons and couldn't be stopped. They were pretty funny the Stepmother was living up to her role and sneered at us looking down her nose at everyone. Funny!

Regan's first dance

Regan had her first after school dance this Friday. It was held from right after school at 3 - 4:30. Those middle schoolers enjoyed all 90 minutes of it. Here are some shots of Regan line dancing with her friends.
