We have this really interesting banister at our house. Erin has taken full advantage of it and lines her cars all her cars up so they can all enjoy a ride down the banister. (I clean a lot of tire marks off this banister) Cracks me up how meticulous she is about how each one needs to be lined up. When one goes she goes and pushes them all up one car link. Erin insists that her cars LOVE this ride. I am thinking she likes it too. . .

Feeling a cold coming on....
I was starting to feel a little achey and thought OH no I don't wan to get sick! So off to Walgreens I went to find some Coldeeze or Zucol. As I was standing there checking out all these wonderful remedies an elderly lady came up to me and said, "Sick are ya?" I looked at her and said, "No, but I feel like I will be in about a day or so so I thought I would try to get ahead of it." She smiled and said, "Honey let me tell you what you need to do. You need to go home take a HOT bath have a HOT drink and go to bed for the next 12 hourse. You will feel fine after that. Your body is just tired." I smiled and said thank you.
I want to know who has time, especially moms, to sleep TWELVE hours straight?!!!

Memories....
I was chatting with Margie Christian's cousin the other day on facebook and she reminded me of this memory I thought I would share. On Regan's 6th birthday. I made this cake for her. Isn't it cute? I have no idea if it was any good b/c this is the night before. She is chatting on the phone with Grandma getting birthday wishes. Her party was scheduled for the next day when low and behold the stomach flu hit our house fierce! As I look at this picture of Regan I can see she was already getting pale. I should have known! Poor Regan was up all night throwing up followed by Jordan and Daddy. Erin and Mommy were the only ones who didn't get it. But both of us were so exhausted from taking care of everyone else that this cake got thrown out by the time it was remembered again....

Valentines day celebration
Here are some shots of Erin's Valentines day celebration at her school. Don't you just love her Valentines outfit? It was a BIG hit! They each got to make their own cookies, notice how much icing Erin has on her cookie! She had a great time and was overjoyed with each and every card her classmates gave to her!

Erin's gap
Here is Erin's gap in her teeth right now. That's right over Christmas break she lost both her front teeth. We sure are hoping she gets two new ones before next Christmas!

Run some energy off
We decided to take the younger two out on the trail to run some energy off. I had to laugh when Hunter got tired he stopped dead in his tracks. April said Hunter come on what's wrong. He said Mom I got no minutes left. I think that was his way of saying he was tired of walking. April looked at him and said well we're almost there you want to borrow some of my minutes? It cracked me up!

Irony
So I went out last week to buy some more of the reusable grocery sacks (I think I now have enough to get all my groceries) and do you know they tried to put them in a plastic grocery bag to give them to me?

Science Fair - Depth Perception
Regan participated in the Science Fair with her experiment on Depth Perception. She had a great time putting this experiment together with her daddy.
Regan had a great time socializing with her friends at the fair. She was so happy her friend Delayla came to support her at the fair even though Delayla didn't enter the Science Fair she came to support her friend.

Philosophizing
Is that even a word? I don't even know any more. My brain so hurts from this class it is just so outside of the box thinking for me. (sigh) this class will eventually come to an end. Please pray for me that it ends with a great grade for me. I sure am trying. Modus tollens, Disjunctive syllogism, Reductio ad absurdum... eye yi yi I really am not enjoying this.
Speaking of Philosophy I have a question for you. Do you sneak treats such as candy into the movies? If so do you ever feel guilty about it? The theaters charge such an unreal amount you could buy the movie 3 or 4 times over just for popcorn and soda! What are your thoughts?

Catching up
I loved catching up with April and remembering fun times we had at family reunions and such. The four mommies and daddies played Hearts as well. And I get to have bragging rights to at least one round ! :)

Rock theme
I had a great weekend. My cousin April and her family came up to visit us. I haven't seen April since Mandy's graduation from high school! It has been waaay too long! It was so great seeing her again and her family is so sweet! April and her husband Matt have this little guy Hunter. We took the girls and Hunter up to Seattle to this rock place called the Rock Patch right after we ate at a pizza restaurant called The Rock (we had a rock theme going this day ;) The place was filled with rocks all over the floor and the could walk on them roll on them and pick out ones and find them on a guide to explain to them all about where it came from. It was an interesting place. The kids each got to bring home a bag of their own rocks as well.

Amusing conversation
Regan: Mom guess what?
me: What?
Regan: I think I drank my Sprite too fast because I just went in the bathroom and threw up!
me: What?!?!
Regan: Yeah and you know what I tasted it all before it went into the toilet! Isn't that gross?
me: Yes Regan that is gross....
LATER
Regan: Mom have you ever tasted your tongue?
me: Umm I don't know have you?
Regan: Yeah it tastes weird.
me: What does it taste like?
Regan: tastebuds

Things I miss and DON'T MISS
Things I do miss about Alaska: the set up of this house was just so awesome for me! I loved the laundry room was just off the kitchen. I put my scrapbook area in there and it was my private sanctuary. But I still was so close to everyone at the same time
Yes this was a fun day sledding with my family BUT it was April for goodness sakes!! Snow for nine months of the year I definitely DON'T miss about Alaska!
I also miss that Christian worked a 8-5 workday Monday - Friday every week and was home for supper every night. Also for every holiday since he worked an office job there, but I surely don't miss worrying about him being sent to Iraq!
I also miss having little baby Erin. She is turning into a big girl too fast. But notice in the picture the big ole knot on her forehead that was from running into the corner of the wall I believe. I don't miss that or the potty training I had to do with her while there! Uggh potty training!

My first bike
Okay I am participating in the Blog write away contest over at Scribbit. I thought this month's theme was fun, as you can see from the title above.
So here is my memory of my first bike. It was my sister Mandy's birthday and my dad pulled up in his truck. He pulls out of the back of it a cool dirt bike, she was a bit of a tom boy back then. (I know for those of you that know her now that is hard to believe huh?) Mandy's eyes about came unglued she was so happy.
As I sat there watching my sister's glorious moment I know it was selfish and horrible thing to think but as a child all I could think was bummer I sure wish I had a brand new shiny bike! I sat down on our front porch and assumed the position of . . . disappointment. As I sit there glum watching my sister ride around all happy my dad came and sat next to me on the porch. He put his arm around me and said "Bet I know what you are thinking." I just looked up at him. He then said "I bet you are wishing you had a new bike huh?" I of course had to act the part and just shrugged my shoulders. My dad then got up walked over to the back of his truck and said "Well lookie here I think it's your lucky day I got another bike back here!" I am not sure my feet hit the ground from the leap off the porch to the back of his truck! He pulled out the most beautiful girly bike you could imagine with a banana seat and all. Well come on it was the 80's! It had the name Dusty Rose printed on the chain cover. That was the color of her too. All my friends then dubbed my bike Dusty Rose. I am not sure if they were making fun but I to this day like to think they were just envious of me and Dusty.
The best part was then my brother got a bike too! All three of us kids rode up and down the street until way past dark. What a glorious day that was! Definitely my favorite birthday of Mandy's!

Erin and Maggie
Erin and Maggie have always had a tight bond. They are sort of like twins as they were both babies at the same time. We got Maggie and then 3 months later we got the wonderful news we were going to adopt Erin. We really didn't plan it that way it just sort of happened. Let me tell you it is not easy to have a puppy and a baby at the same time, but if you are going to be up anyway feeding the baby you might as well let the puppy out to potty while you're at it right? Anyway Maggie is very protective over Erin and tolerates quit a bit of good natured lovin from Erin. In the pictures she is using Maggie as a pillow while she plays her DS and reading her a story she just knew Maggie would love Bingo of course!
