Mean mommy

Yes I was a mean mom and made my kids go outside to play today. This is what Regan decided to do with her time. Isn't this a lovely message she wrote me? Let me translate it says

It's Stupid being out here! Fun is being Inside!!!

Hair dresser mommy

Sunday mornings are a bit hectic in our house. Trying to get four people all pretty and presentable for church is a task some days. Christian works on Sundays so it is just me. The hardest part is trying to make sure all three girls (including myself) have hair all done and looking good. This morning Erin was having a particularly good hair day. I put this cute flower in and Regan walked in and said "Mommy you should be a hair dresser!"

I thought aren't I though? ;) Erin does look pretty cute doesn't she? I just remembered I wanted to take a picture of her cute hair after she got her pjs on so this is her nightgown she is wearing (still cute) ;).

Tool Time in my church!

Today being father's day (by the way HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD, I did try to call to wish you a happy day but got your machine you know the thought was there) ;) Anywhooo our service at church was focused on Father's day. Our pastor just loves props and getting into it for his message. I just had to take a picture of the set for today because it cracked me up. Look familiar yep they recreated Tool Time from Home Improvement show. Pastor came out and said he wanted to amp of the sound system and really getta a mega service going. The music director (dressed in a flannel shirt of course) said into the mike "I don't think that's such a good idea, Chris" Pastor then said oh no you don't know what you are talking about and started this machine, smoke started coming out of it the lights flickered and went out. Pastor then says oh no why do I always do this, why do I always want more? Behind that board there pops up a head with a fishing hat and says "Hiddy ho there neighbor looks like you are having some problems here" it then proceeded onto a really great message of how we always want more and that not necessarily being a bad thing but remember to keep our eye on the prize.

Needless to say this whole intro brought lots of laughter and is just typical for what a great pastor we have been blessed with here. I love his services so much fun!

My town

Head on over to Flickr to find one cool shot of your town. This is one I rather liked taken of the local Skate park we drive by everyday.

One of those days

I was having one those crazy busy mom days. You know how those days go:

Wipe off the counter. Dog wimpers you notice she needs water. Water in her bowl, phone rings pick it up which of course any mom knows phone to the ear means bickering must ensue in extremely loud volume in the next room. Calm down violent eruption only to find out phone call is an annoying telemarketer anyway. Teenager throws permission sheets in front of you that he needs you to fill out and apparently needed done yesterday. At this point feeling very frazzled and annoyed quite frankly with everyone. Erin brings in the mail. I notice a package, open it to find some lovely pajamas I need to write a review on for Steals and Deals. I tell Erin here can you go put these up in your room? She says "Mom are these new?" Being annoyed like I am I say "Um no Erin their old what do you think?" Erin runs into her sister and says in excited girly voice "Regan would you like at these old pjs mommy got me?"

Okay and just like that the littlest one cracks me grumpy exterior and makes me laugh!

Techology

I love my new Routon (really I do!), by the way mine is blue not black. Anywhoo if anyone knows my husband they know he is a fan of gadget. Any shape, size, or application he loves a something that can do something cool!! This van has more bells and whistles than I can even list here for you. I still haven't figured them all out. So the other day it was just me, Jordan and the girls coming home from church. Jordan decided he would try to help me figure out why my phone is just not syncing into the van's blu tooth system like it is suppose to. So he hits the button and says phone, settings, it says you want to change services? Jordan says NOOO!, End, Stop. The van continues to say You want to change services. So the girls decide they are going to chime in. I decide well I might as well try to help too so all of us are saying every word we can think of to make it stop. END, STOP, NO, DISCONTINUE, EXIT, you name it. The van then says I think you said you would like to change to Spanish. Then proceeds to ask us questions in Spanish. This gets everyone belly laughing. Thank goodness we stopped that and got it back to English. We decided to call it quits for the night and do some more reading of the manual before we try anything else.

Technology is so awesome...when you know how to use it. When you don't ugggh is it ever annoying!

Conversations from the back seat

Regan: What is a chick fight anyway?

Erin: You know where two girls take a bunch of baby chicks and throw them at each other!

followed by lots of laughter from everyone!

Another shot

This is going back to our day at the beach the field trip day with Erin. But I just love this shot. It was Erin having a grand time dancing with her shadow. Isn't that just the cutest?

We are just not as young as we used to be

Christian took Erin out to enjoy an afternoon of roller skating. I decided to grab the moment to do some studying for my summer course. I had barely cracked my book when I heard them coming back inside. I thought I wonder what happened? Christian come up the stairs grunting and walking very strange. When he came around the corner he was covered in dirt and blood all down his leg. I said WHAT HAPPENED? He said I FELL! After getting him all cleaned up his knee swelled a bit and it took him over a week to recover from this flesh wound really. Wow as we get older it sure does take us a while to recover from injuries doesn't it?

Clean ALMOST all day

So I had Erin in the most adorable Gymboree new all white tshirt all day and then wouldn't you know the minute she walked through the door she grabbed a glass of chocolate milk and spilled the whole thing down the front of her. Uggh! Here is her washing all the chocolate off.

Track season ends. . .

Jordan track season came to an end this week (just as football practice began) and so he had an awards banquet. Although we all love to see these events and hear all these wonderful things said about our child let me tell you this event was THREE HOURS long! Not so fun with two little girls who are less than happy about having to sit in their sweaty seat and not wiggle and wait. . .wait...wait...patiently. I finally ended up letting them play in the courtyard behind the cafeteria this was held on while I had one foot in the cafeteria one in the courtyard trying to keep my eye on both.

It was really nice to see Jordan with all the kids he hangs out with daily and see him interact with them. I love to see him so at ease and seeming to geniunly have a good time with all his friends. There honestly were only 30 kids total but they had each kid come up and they described in detail all the reasons they liked each kid. Well when it came to Jordan they talked about how Jordan was the kind of kid that he would do whatever was asked of him. He was their go to guy any time they needed some one to fill in a race. So throughout this season he ran the 100 the 200 and even the hurtles! Although I am not sure he ever placed I love that he gets out there and give it his all!

This is him with his coach having all the kind words said about him. Apparently the coach lost a bet with one of the students. He bet them if anyone of them made it to state he would wear a dress the entire day. Well one of the girls made it. So he had to teach the entire day in this dress. He said he did not receive much respect from his students today! ;)

Girls got all gussied up!

The girls got invited to go to a birthday party at Justice for Girls this weekend. I actually was pretty excited as it was a joint party with the younger sister Erin's age and the older Regan's age. So it worked out perfectly for us! But let me tell you once we got there and they started doing the makeovers. I was a little . . .um..oh my! My daughter started to look like Jem! Do you remember her? Okay it is kind of funny in Erin's picture you can hardly tell with her dark complexion but if you had seen her in person she had purple eye shadow on with pink lip gloss and sparkles in her hair.

Regan got the big hair treatment (I asked them to please just leave Erin's alone, other than the glitter) but not too surprisingly Regan opted out of the makeup. Making her I don't think so face and saying NO!

They also got to decorate their own t-shirts and do a little shopping for lip gloss. They had a great time! Let me tell you it was oh so much fun getting all this glitter out of their hair and then the bath tub later!

Can you believe it has started already?

Jordan just started football practice the other day. Please pray this will not be his teammates this season having to take a knee while he is injured!

Erin's dream car

So we were out and about this week doing some car shopping as our beloved minivan that has been good to us for the last ten years. (yes you read that right I have been driving my van now for TEN years) The van is now as my mom says starting to nickel and dime us with the things that are starting to go wrong with it. So it was time to make the decision: keep putting money into this van that who knows how long will last or look for a replacement? We decided it was time for the latter.

Let me also explain that I taught my girls the Slug Bug game a couple years ago. So every time we drive down the road and whoever sees a VW bug first gets to slug the person next to them. This game started becoming a bit violent so we changed it to a tickle ;). Anyway Erin has fallen in love with the Bug. So when we pulled into this lot she screamed SLUG BUG oh wait OH MY look at all the SLUG BUGS! It was her dream come true so we of course had to sit in one and try it out. I see a VW bug driver in our future. . .
