Grateful

This last shot may be my favorite from the day. You ever have one of those full circle moments that make you all sappy? Well here is mine. So when Christian and I got married my mom gave Christian as a gift a picture of a little boy wearing a Superman cape walking down the sidewalk with his daddy. The caption below it said "Even Superman needs a daddy." As you can imagine the picture brought a tear to my eye and I love it to this day. As I saw Erin running ahead of us to the parking lot this day wearing her Supergirl cape holding her big brother's hand it was just one of those moments that made me think wow I am so grateful for all the blessings God has provided us!

Cat in the Hat dress

So you know I don't normally do this but I would like to share with you a giveaway I just entered. It is this adorable Dr.Suess Cat in the Hat dress. I would really love to have this for little Miss Erin to wear for her first day of school! This giveaway is going on over at SewCute Shop

Are you Freaky?

Regan refused to cooperate in getting her picture taken in this cut out because at the bottom of it it said Are you Freaky? She said I AM NOT FREAKY so no way am I putting my head in that thing!

The bottom picture is of Nick's little sister joining Erin and Regan laughing along.

What about Jordan?

I am sure that is what you are all thinking. Well no worries, he had a friend and great fun at Six Flags too! Do you remember his best friend he made while we were living in Alaska? This is Nick. We found out they just moved to California and when we called to see about stopping by for a visit we found out they only lived 20 minutes from Six Flags. So we asked if he could come spend the day with Jordan. It worked out great for everyone! So funny how quite honestly the military is a small world.

Sorry about the picture looks like we caught Jordan in the shade. I had to laugh when his mom took this shot standing next to me and said Nick give me that 6400 dollar smile. (Nick just got his braces off and yep that is about how much it costs to get your kids teeth straight OUCH!)

Woo hooo!

We had an absolutely fabulous time at Six Flags! The weather just could not have been more perfect that day. In the 70s with a nice cool breeze. The lines were short and the rides were great fun!

Regan decided she is not quite ready for the big roller coasters so it worked out well she enjoyed the smaller ones with her sister.

Sea Lion show

Okay this may have been my favorite thing we went to this day at Six Flags. The Sea Lion show was just adorable fun! They put on a pirate show and see the little bitty sea otter? He kept hiding the key to the treasure they couldn't find it anywhere. The kids all kept pointing there it goes! Off the little sea otter would scamper away again with the key...so cute!

I loved how they trained these Sea Lions to do the cutest things. So this guy waving to the crowd? Before he left he blew a big kiss goodbye!

This was one of the hilarious antics. The pirate just couldn't find her trusty friend this Sea Lion and as you can see he was hiding our right on top of her head!

Erin she is a character!

I couldn't get anyone else to cooperate to take pictures with all the fun characters at Six Flags. So here is Erin with just about every character we ran across that day. She had to give each of them a big hug and then posed away. Thanks Erin!

Our first day in San Fran through the eyes of Regan the photographer

We let Regan use my old camera to take pictures our first day in San Francisco. I love to see the shots she comes up with and seeing the world through her eyes! She got shots of interesting signs and sites along our drive. Funny how she picked out that house. I actually noticed it too and though huh that is some interesting shingling on that house! Anyway she also got some shots of The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Children's Science Museum we went to that day. She thought that dinosaur looked just like the one in the movie Night at the Museum.

We are enjoying our vacation in San Francisco

This is a great shot I convinced a professional photographer that was standing there taking shots of the Golden Gate bridge to snap for us. We are on to more fun in Cali then up to visit our friends the Lamb family in Oregon!

Birthday celebrated a bit early due to . . .

vacation plans. We will actually be in Oregon on her birthday so we decided to celebrate a week early. Here she is opening her loot. She got all kinds of fun goodies she thoroughly enjoyed. I have to say the top of her list was probably the Scooter Grandma and Grandpa Meyer sent. I will have to post more pictures of her riding it soon. She asked me to tell everyone thanks so much for her gifts she would give you all a big hug if she could!

Funny Memory

So I just had the funniest memory come back to me the other day and had to share. Back when Regan was a baby Christian used to work nights. I had to wake him at about 3:30 in the afternoon to get ready for the next night at work. Well one day I was busy nursing Regan and just couldn't get up. So I asked Jordan to go in and wake him up. I heard this mischievous little boy giggle and saw him run down the hall with his trumpet. Thankfully I caught him before he got in there and hollared DON'T YOU DARE! Can you believe that child was going to wake his father with a bugle alarm?!

Gramps don't read this

So we are driving down the road leading up to our house when thunk I hear this sound and something rolls off the side of the car. I stop and look down on the road. And there is a headless snake curled up on the ground. Apparently a bird flew over and lost his find. The horror of having this drop on you if I had been walking instead of driving! AHHHHH! Anyway I looked out and said girls look what is on the road! They both run over to the driver side of the van and look out and say Cool look it's a snake! Regan then says where is it's head? I said well I think the bird ate it off. Regan says Wow I bet that hurt!

Festival days

We went to a Festival close to home today with Jordan's new friend Arielle and her family. We all had a great time. . .

. . .except when we were feeling grumpy.

The girls found a great game of jumping from one set of road bumps to another. Whatever it kept them busy!

Thanks so much for the invite to Arielle's family we had a great time. So nice to get out of the house and check out all the fun booths!

Crafting with dreams of video games

I am trying my best (like every other mom out there I am sure) to keep my kids entertained and limit the amount of screen time. So today we decided to do a bit of a craft activity. I found these iron ons and I decided I would let them design their own tshirts. Here is Regan's. Even though we were away from screens she was still dreaming of her favorite video game. Can you guess what this is on the bottom?

More fun from the 4th

Christian had to work on the 4th so he joined us later for the 4th of July festivities. This was the first year both of the girls were brave enough to light their own fireworks. (with a little help from big brother) Guess what their favorite one was? The smoke bombs!

4th of July

Hope you have a great 4th of July! Here is a picture of how we spent our evening. Jordan got asked to taking money for parking at the local fireworks show as part of the youth program at church so we decided to go ahead and watch the show too. We got to use our stadium seats in our new van for the first time. A cool feature that allows the back seat to tip back and we can sit on them and watch from the convenience of our van! The girls loved the show and Jordan came in and caught the tale end of it with us. It was a lovely evening hope you guys had a happy and safe 4th as well!

Swimming Lessons

We just finished our last day of swimming lessons today. It's so hard to get any decent shots of lessons. They both had a great time and hopefully learned a little too. Erin is becoming really comfortable in the water which makes me so happy! Reminds me of the first time I enrolled her in swimming lessons and the teacher pulled her out on one of those kick boards she started screaming Help! Help! she is trying to drown me! All the parents turned to look and see whose kids she was I turned around too and looked behind me he he! We've come a long way baby!

You should see how well she can torpedo through the water now! By the way look at how long Erin's hair is wet! Check out Regan's awesome prescription goggles I found at the recommendation of the swim instructor for only $30! Gosh I love a deal ;)
