Jam packed summer!

This is one jam packed summer! It seems like we are more busy this summer than we are during the school year but that may have something to do with 2 moves in 3 months. . .

The past couple weeks the girls have attended VBS and now we are in the middle of swimming lessons. They have thoroughly enjoyed both and I think their swimming schools have made huge improvements this year!

Next on the agenda is a trip to NYC for mommy to attend BlogHer with Aunt Mandy and a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Meyer. Also Regan still has tennis camp to attend. Next thing you know August will be done and school will be back in session...maybe things will slow down a bit then. Probably wishful thinking as Erin starts soccer in the fall.

Regan's girly bulletin board

Here is my latest project to finish off Regan's bedroom. I wanted to put a bulletin board up in her room so she could hang up all of her artwork and such. I bought the frames at garage sales and estate sales I have been to throughout the year. I spray painted them white and added the corkboard. I think they turned out pretty cute. . .if I do say so myself ;).

We have finally moved past the Cars stage

this year we had an iCarly cake. The past four years it has been Disney Cars but this year she finally asked for something new- iCarly helped Erin celebrate her 7th birthday.

For Erin's birthday celebration this year I took both the girls to a store in our mall called Kids Korner. Very similar to Build a Bear except throw in some cotton candy and lots more sweets to eat. Regan picked out a new Panda friend and Erin a Unicorn. Then both got some yummy cotton candy as well. What a fun day!

Hard to believe my baby is now seven years old. Time marches on and though I am sad to see us leaving behind the toddler years of Dora and The Wonder Pets (well not too sad that song was annoying after a while) I am happy to embrace the age my kids are now and enjoy this stage. Fun girly age here we are!

Girls rooms are painted

This is what I have finished so far in our house. The girls rooms are not 100% finished but they are pretty close. These are the colors each chose. Lots of work but very pretty (I think) when the painting was finished.

Guess who turned 18?!?!

I seriously about hurt my fingers lighting all of those candles! Although Jordan acted a bit put out I think he secretly liked getting sung Happy Birthday to him and getting doted on by his family.

It got HOT here. . .for about a week

One of the things I adore about this state is that the weather stays about 70 degrees all year round. . .that is except for about a week of the year in the summer. We have one week of over 100 degree weather. If you can suffer through that one week you are golden for the rest of the year. This is how we beat the heat.

Went to visit my cousins in Portland

My cousin April and her little guy Hunter live close to Portland. Her brother my other cousin little Terry and his wife Alexa along with their two little ones Taytum and Tytus came up to visit them from Kansas. I figured this chance does not come along too many times so I was going to jump on a chance to spend a day with my cousins! Here are the girls Regan, Erin and Terry's little girl Taytum going back to the farm and checking out the tractor.

Getting all dolled up

Took the girls to a kids salon to get all dolled up for a fun day.

Erin's hair took a whole HOUR to get done but you will hardly recognize her when you scroll down to the after picture!

Here is Regan's before above
Erin could not keep her hands out of this hair and spent an hour or more flipping her hair that night and admiring herself in the mirror!

Regan's after with curls that lasted a total of 3 hours

Both girls seem to want what they don't have. One wants straight hair and the other curls. Oh well with the magic of a hair dresser they can both get what the other has!

We are officially home owners!!!

FINALLY!!

As of 2:00 pm yesterday we got the call that after a much too long anticipated wait it is official the house is ours.

We put the offer in on Jan 2nd and I laughingly said oh wouldn't that be great if they accepted our offer and we could be in this new house for Jordan's graduation? I seriously did not think it would ever take that long. Little did I know that it would actually be after the 4th of July!! So if ever given the opportunity to buy a home in a Short Sale. My advice RUN don't walk as far away from it as possible!!

I say that but we did get a great deal on a gorgeous house. . .seven months later.

The reason for this great get together?

Yep this sweet boy and celebrating his graduation. We are so proud of him what a great kid he is and can't wait to see what his future has to hold!

Day at the Park

We decided to take advantage of a beautiful day we had when the Billingsley family was here visiting us and took the kids to a really nice park we have here. Great way for them to burn off tons of energy - and would you look at these smiles!

I was glad to see that Erin and Lauren hit it off so well during this visit! They seemed to be inseparable most of the time. Here are some shots of their adventures together. Are they not just the cutest?
