Rambling of excuses

So I just started back my classes online..e.i. don't expect a lot of posts in the near future or consistent. I will try to throw in a 1st day of school post next week but past that don't look for another post until maybe the holidays. Anyway I am taking my classes and let me just tell you TOUGH I am struggling way out of my comfort zone. I have asked Jordan for help and am surprised at how easy this stuff comes to him. Which brings me to my question. Are teachers tougher? I really don't remember learning any of this math stuff in high school but then again that was almost 20 years ago I am thinking I could have forgotten it. I do know when Jordan came out of Kindergarten 12 years ago it was not expected that he be able to read just know his sounds and phonics. Erin on the other hand is expected to read full sentences and be working on Annunciation. Crazy! I am wondering what will be expected of Erin by the time she reaches Jordan's age will the school system change a lot by then? Time will tell. I do remember thinking I had it tough when I was in high school and was tested on Photosynthesis and for the test I was given 6 sheets of blank paper and told to write all I knew on the subject including diagrams. The teacher (whom I despised) also said feel free to use the back of the paper if needed. Pure terror! Thankfully I had really studied hard and filled all 6 of those pages. If you want a diagram of photosynthesis I can still draw you one! So maybe those tough teachers are good for something as horrible of a person as he was he definitely made the info stick. Okay sorry I am just rambling today.... back to my homework.

Mommy time

My friend blogging friend Nicole at Mom Trends is starting a weekly post of encouraging moms to have some Mommy time. I completely agree with her this is something all mom's need to find the time for. We all need a little me time. We feel so refreshed after a little break and so appreciate our amazing little ones more when we are rejuvenated!

Well as many of you know I really love my Walgreens stops. I do stop in once a week and so enjoy this moment to myself to spend some time doing one of my favorite things retail therapy. Since I am also a thrifty person it makes me so happy when I walk out like I did with a full bag and only paying $1.47! What have you done this week to get in your Mommy time?

Miniature Golf

We went to play miniature golf the other day and had a great time. I have to say it was a VERY challenging course though. Check out this hole on top of this hill!

This hole actually rotated around! Very hard to hit a moving target!

Okay if that last hole was not challenging enough this one the whole platform rotated while you were trying to putt! It was actually hard to balance! I was a bit dizzy after getting off too! Fun though!

GO Karts

If you didn't already know I LOVE Go Karts and jump at the chance to drive them. How often do you get the chance to drive with your peddle to the metal and hug all the turns? (okay that was a rhetorical question no comments from the Peanut Gallery here) Jordan and I had a raise with the girls in tow. Of course I won but do you see Jordan trying as hard as he can to inch around me?

Town Festival

Don't you just love a parade? The girls both really enjoyed our town's fair. I think more than the parade they enjoyed the mad dash for candy. They came back with a FULL bag ;).

Great tradition!

My girls so enjoy the tradition our town has every year at the town's anniversary day of sliding down this hill on cardboard boxes. Can you think of a better way to spend an afternoon?

Trail of fun

We just adore that our town has this beautiful trail for us to enjoy minutes from our house. It is such a lovely way to enjoy an afternoon! By the way this outfit of Regan's is one of her favorites she says she feels very fashionable when she wears it ;) She does look pretty stinkin cute!

Staying cool?

Hoping you are all staying cool enjoying the last bit of summer there is. We sure are. We had a day of ice cream at the park today! And yeah I didn't realize what shoes Erin threw on until we got to the park. Whatever I think she pulls it off well ;)

Football practice aaaaallll summer

Jordan will be coming back from his mission trip on Friday evening. Can you believe he is worried he missed out on ONE week of football practice? They started practice one week after school got out. They practice four days a week for 3 hours! This month the practices will bump up to two a day. I am telling you football is Jordan's life! He absolutely loves it! I went to pick him up from practice one day and this is what they were doing flip this tire over jump in it run around it flip it again all the way down to the other end in the 100 degree heat! Uggh no thank you this does NOT look like fun to me!

So if you are wondering where our family will be on Friday nights this fall you can catch us watching the Trojans play! Come on out and catch a game, his coach says Jordan is one of the fastest running backs they have!

Tennis - future Serena or Venus? ;)

This week Regan participated in a Tennis Camp. She had a really good time and we may have just found a sport she really likes! Don't you just love all action shots?

Notice the train in the background of the last shot? I had to laugh that day because apparently that train goes by every day at that exact same time and they all stop and wave at the conductor who then toots his horn and waves at the kids!

Lamb visit

I am so bummed I didn't get my camera out any more than I did with our visit to the Lamb family. It was such a quick visit unfortunately and we were so busy having fun these are the only shots I got during our visit. But aren't they all cute?

Mission Trip

Jordan will be leaving for his Mission trip to Northern Washington this afternoon. His team will be working on rebuilding a school and putting on a VBS for the youth on an Indian Reservation. Thank you to all of you that helped by sending money so he could go on this trip. I think this will be a great experience for him and all the youth involved. Please pray for his safety while he is gone for the next week. Thanks so much!
