Oh to play or sleep?

Oh isn't it such an inconvenience to get tired in the middle of playing? As you can see looks like Erin was spending some quality time with her horse and just got tuckered out. It has always cracked me up how kids can seem to be going 90 miles per hour and the sleepy bug bites and zoom they are out like a switch!

As usual their bedroom is a disaster I would say excuse the mess but quite honestly this is a norm for their room, sadly. I try to stay on top of it but some days I choose not to fight this battle.

How have the Olympics inspired you?

I love to watch the Olympics the inspirational stories of these amazing athletes and their path to get them to the world's most elite competition. They are always inspiring and just fun to root for your country. Well this year the Olympic bug has bitten Regan. Her class has really devoted a lot of time discussing them. She stayed up late at night to watch the opening ceremonies and oohhed and awwed over every effect of the show.

She has now been inspired to learn French. Thankfully through her daddy's job we have access to Rosetta stone language learning system. She is busy at work trying to become fluent in the language that she so desperately wanted to know what they were saying in the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.

Personally I love it more education is always a good thing. So have the Olympics inspired you?

Star Student!

This past week Erin's class celebrated their 100th day of school in the 1st grade this is practically a holiday! The day was jam packed with activities in each of the five 1st grade classrooms that make up Erin's pod of classes (the neighbor classrooms). They had fun things such as stamping 100 spots on a worksheet with a dog on it, counting 100 pennies, putting 100 beads on a necklace, and finished the day with snacks of 100 treats! They got 10 each of M&Ms, cheerios, cheetos, and lots of other yummies.

Okay if this wasn't fun enough Erin got chosen to be the Star student for her class and got to help lead her class to count to 100. These sweet little 1st graders got louder and louder until they were screaming the final numbers in their counting.

So in case you didn't hear it from your house (which I am surprised if you couldn't!)
Happy 100th Day of School!

Happy Birthday 'lil Nate

In our family Nathan is known is 'lil Nate because we have two Nathans. Uncle Nathan and 'lil Nate their cousin. Since the day slipped right by me without getting a chance to tell Nathan ourselves happy birthday I wanted him to know we are thinking of him and want to wish him a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Can't believe he is already 7 years old! This picture of him so makes me think of how much he looks like his Uncle Casey. Maybe it is just all the years I watched Casey in the same field playing little league. Either way both of them were/are super cute!

Happy Birthday Naders!!!

Planet 51

I took the girls to go see this movie this past Saturday at the $2 theater. It was really a pretty cute movie and definitely worth the $6 total it cost us to see it. That is if we hadn't say right in front of the most annoying family in the theater that day!

First there was the 3 year old little girl that asked just about every 5 seconds "Why they do that daddy?", "Why he break that?", "Why he say that?" Let me tell you she didn't whisper either full voice and daddy responded every time explaining why and then said just watch the movie. But come on - every 5 seconds??? It was getting yep annoying! Plus let us not forget that he let said daughter sit on his lap and she then decided it was great fun to kick the backs of our seats. Also daddy had a most disgusting habit of belching long and loud every time he took a drink of his soda.

I know what you are thinking why didn't you just move? Well the midwestern girl in me that just wants to smooth it all over and not make a scene was trying her hardest. Really I was! Plus just about the time I would think that's it we are moving. It would stop for a bit and just when you got comfortable it would start all over.

Okay so the reason I wanted to share this story is mainly because I wanted to share how proud I am of Regan. You know Miss Regan and she just can't keep quiet about such things. Well she actually did keep quiet about it, all the way into the parking lot! Which for her that is BIG! As soon as we got out to the parking lot she looked around to make sure it was okay and then said MOM that girl in there was sooooo ANNOYING!!

I laughed and told her I agreed and let her know I was so proud of her for not making a scene and waiting until we got outside to vent her frustration!

It's raining...inside?

The other night I went to get my hair done. Leaving daddy in charge of the house. No big deal right? Well apparently ...wrong!

I came in and noticed the weirdest sound. I walked into the kitchen and said OH MY! There was water dripping from the ceiling all over the center island counter! I ran upstairs and said We have a problem!! I went to both bathrooms and no one was even in the tub. Very confused we tried everything we could think of and finally ended up calling the landlord.

After he was just as confused as we were I said well the girls did both have their baths earlier but that was about an hour ago? Then a light bulb went off and I said Regan how full did you fill that tub? She showed us how full and let me tell you it is surprising she didn't require a life guard! Anyway what happened was the water went into the excess water valve which actually was not on all that tight so it went behind it too and then drip drip drip all over the downstairs. We had to just let the dripping go on all night with towels all over the kitchen to save the laminate floors.

We now have a new rule in our house water level must be approved for bath time!

Off living life

Just wanted to drop in to let you know we haven't dropped off the face of the earth. No I haven't been on here to blog for a while but I have been a bit busy living life lately instead of blogging it. We are all doing great just run run run keeping up with everyone's schedule. A bit boring actually but something I find myself saying a lot is the older I get the more I realize boring = good! Less drama!
