Happy Halloween 2010

Here are the girls all dressed up and ready to go Trick or Treating or should I say Trunk or Treating at our church. Regan was a cowgirl and Erin was Princess Ariel (The Little Mermaid).

I love that our church always throws a great Halloween bash. Such fun events such as Trunk or Treating out of the back of people's cars. Then they also rent inflatable jumpy things for the kids. The older youth all set up games for the kids to play to earn candy such as Plinko, Fishing for candy, and a cake walk.

The last couple years one of our members has provided a hay ride as well. Which is really just a ride around the parking lot on hay but that counts right? At any rate they loved it all!

Happy Halloween hope your night was as fun as ours!

Carving the pumpkins

Oh this is hard letting go and letting your kids have at their pumpkins with a carving knife! We let Regan do her own with a bit of help from daddy but Erin gets to draw her design on and mommy did the cutting part for her. They get to have the oh so much fun of digging out the pumpkin guts ewwww!

New Haircut

Regan was really enjoying the long hair but....really hating to brush it every day. I made her a deal if she could keep it brushed each day she could have it as long as she wanted. Yeah that was not working so we both decided it was time for a shorter more manageable do. She looked through the hair dresser books and found this one. I think it suites her well. She is having fun playing with this new look with her hats and hair accessories!

Pumpkin patch 2010

Here we are keeping up our tradition of visiting the pumpkin patch each year. Jordan is so busy with work and school these days he is usually missing from our family events...sad I know but I guess he is growing up.

We let the girls pick which ever pumpkin they would like. Boy they took a long time checking out row over row of pumpkins for just the perfect one!

Here is Erin kicking the side of this one to try it out...

What a daddy will do to make his girls smile. I have no idea what that goofy face was about ;). But yeah he is a great daddy and of course carried their pumpkins for them. Oh yeah you might have noticed he is giving contacts a try right now. He so hates going for his morning run and having his glasses completely fog over on him.

I am officially a soccer mom

If you wonder what the Meyers are doing on Saturday let me tell you it probably involves soccer this fall. Every Saturday we have a game to attend and I have to tell you Erin is actually pretty good! She also has practice every Tuesday and Thursday evening so yep I am learning what it means to be a soccer mom. For me it means always having lawn chairs in the back of the van (and umbrellas we do live in the Northwest). It also means having a steady supply of band aids and pony tail holders for either my daughter or the girls on her team. Both seem to be in need every game.

Regan decided long ago soccer was not her sport. She gave it one season and said yeah this just isn't my thing. She seems to enjoy softball so we will be sticking with that for her. Regan being the "little mommy" she is loves to spend her time on the sidelines carrying for all the little siblings of Erin's team mates. This little one above seems to be her buddy most of the time. Her mom has three girls. One on Erin's team and this one plus her twin sister. So she is BUSY! Thank goodness she has taken a liking to Regan because she tends to take care of her during most of the games. On Saturday I was trying to figure out where Regan went and I saw her holding this little one's hand while holding an umbrella helping her mom bring both the girls to the port-a-potty. Yuck! I know God knew what he was giving me my kids so far apart. I don't know how this lady does it! She is super mom! She is super sweet and is grateful for Regan's helping hand.

This Saturday we played a game in Gig Harbor and it POURED the entire game. But I have learned that living in the midwest if you wait for the rain to stop to play you will NEVER play. So it was game on! Thankfully our coach was prepared and we all stood under a tent awning he brought along or we walked along the sidelines with an umbrella. We were all soaked by the end of the game but as you can see from the picture above everyone left with smiles of another win! Their team hasn't lost a game yet.

It does a mommy's heart good to overhear the coach say "Okay we have let them score enough it is time to send Erin in so we can score!" He was right Erin scored three goals by the time the day was done. She is so cute out there she has no idea she is their big scorer. She is just so happy when she scores to get hugs from all her teammates!

We only have three games left this season. But if this season is a sign of things to come I am thinking we have LOTS more soccer ahead of us!

Dance party

At the end of each night at there was a dance party at Great Wolf Lodge complete with a DJ playing all of the favorite pop tunes. Here is Erin above raising her hands when the DJ said okay all the pretty girls raise your hands and dance to Single Ladies from Beyonce. It was so cute to see these kids who were having so much fun dancing their hearts out. They were not quite old enough to be embarrassed by how their dancing may look. They were just movin and bouncin!

Yep that middle picture was one I took with my phone and texted back to her daddy to say would you look at this girl dancing with a BOY? Yep what can I say we probably have a lot of this ahead of us with those pretty brown eyes!

Miss Stylish

Miss Regan is becoming Miss Stylish. Every day it is a new accessory or style she has put together. Her love for the past year or so has been hats. She can't seem to get enough of them. I have to say she really does pull them off well. How cute is this girl?

Great Wolf Lodge Event

This weekend we worked in two events. Regan's birthday and mommy had a blogging get together. This event was allowed us to be able to attend Great Wolf at a big time discount, yippee! So Friday night we got there and enjoyed the park all together. Saturday Great Wolf actually had a breakfast for the bloggers and our families which was very nice.

Then most of the rest of Saturday mommy had meetings to attend while daddy took the girls to enjoy more swim fun and enjoy the Magiquest game all over the lodge. But by afternoon mommy was able to jump back into the fun. We left Sunday morning water logged and ready for our own beds.

This was us at the end of each night ready to get cozy in our pjs and enjoy some iCarly together.

Regan is 11 now

Thought I would share in some of the festivities of Regan's 11th birthday. We actually were at Great Wolf Lodge for the day of her physical birthday but here she is opening gifts she received on Thursday night.

Regan was very specific and said she wanted a Cookies and Cream birthday cake. I have no idea where she got this idea and quite honestly I had no idea how to make a cookies and cream cake so we bought an ice cream cake. (this is probably what she had in mind the whole time anyway ;)
She had a great birth week really. It felt like we were celebrating her birthday all week. She had cupcakes for her class and then we took her out to eat at IHop and then presents and then off to Great Wolf Lodge for more celebrating...

Regan is our sweet girl and it is so hard to believe she is already 11. Where does the time go?

Exceptional Art award

I got a letter early last week letting me know that Regan would be getting a special award and I should attend their assembly at school. Well I was a little surprised when the time came and went for her teacher giving out the three awards for their class for the month. Her teacher even mouthed to me...Why are you here? Then I got even more nervous, thinking why am I here? I hope I didn't get Regan's hopes up when she saw me in the audience just to find out she is not getting an award. Thankfully it came time for the specialists to give their awards and the art teacher said she had a special award for her biggest helper this year and wanted her to know how much she appreciated her.

I didn't know that apparently Regan goes into school at the beginning of every day and helps the art teacher set out her supplies and get all the stations ready for the day. This actually doesn't surprise me as Regan LOVES art (and the young hip art teacher) but was one of those nice reminders of what a sweet heart Regan has!

I had to crack up when later in the day Regan reminded me that morning she was asking me do you think I should wear the barrette in my hair or a beret (hat). I told her I thought the barrette pinning back her hair was a better choice. She told me MOM I knew I should have worn my beret how perfect would that have been with my art award I got today?
Here is Miss Regan with her Art Award.

Regan's class has adopted the Special Needs class. Regan adores the special needs kids and when I came into the assembly she was sitting with one on either side of her. It was quite sweet to see her interact with them with kindness and you could tell she just generally enjoyed them.

If you look in the background the little girl that is a bit of a blur in the glasses came up to me right after this picture was taken. (she has Downs Syndrome) She walked up to me and said "Are you Regan's Mom?" I said "Yes I am." She said "Well it is nice to meet you, I am Regan's best friend Taylor." She shook my hand. Such a sweet girl! I smiled and said "I didn't know that it is very nice to meet you." I asked Regan about it later and she said. I do like her but if she wants to think that it is okay with me. I told Regan that I think she may have found her calling in life. I would not be surprised in the least to see Regan working as a Special Needs teacher later in life!
