Fun by Regan Meyer

I like to have fun in many ways. First, I like to play with my Maggie because she likes to have fun too. Second I like to go to my bells choir because I like instruments. Third I like to play on my computer because it is fun. Fourth I like to read because reading makes me see pictures and learn about what I'm reading. This is how I have fun.

That last one just warms my heart!

Bedtime Stories

The whole family went today to go see the movie Bedtime Stories. It was a really cute movie. Adam Sandler is as usual hilarious! I was a little nervous b/c in some of his movies they have some scenes that aren't always the most appropriate for kids, but this was great all the way through. The kids loved the adorable yet weird looking guinea pig in the movie. It was a bit predictable but it had enough parts in it that even Jordan was laughing out loud next to me!

My Family by Regan Meyer

I have three wishes for my family. First, I wish I could see my cousin Sammul more often because I miss him. Second I wish my mom and dad to have exciting birthdays because it's only presents and cake-that's all. Third, I wish I can see my friend Madison Lamb more often because I haven't seen her since the beginning of the summer Olympics. These are my best wishes.

How hilarious is it that she feels bad that her parents birthdays are not more exciting?

The World by Regan Meyer

I have three wishes for the world. First, I wish for peace and less war, so that families can be together forever! Second I wish that people will build more recycling plants, so that the world's resources can be saved. Third, I wish people will build more firestations so that forest fires be put out quicker. These wishes will make the world a better place.


Can I say that these just warmed my heart. I had to laugh at the recycling, I think she has turned into a west coast girl!

Maggie has a play date

Christian was out scrapping the snow off the Christmas lights...while Maggie enjoyed a play date with the puppy (yes that's a puppy) down the street.

Every year we get Maggie a new toy in her stocking and she is I think the most excited for her gift!!

Hope Santa brought you everything you dreamed of. Our children and family were blessed this year with quite a few surprised from Santa. We must have been really good...as Erin said ;). Here are some highlights for you.

Toothless wonder

I will post pictures of it later this week but I have to share our tragic story from this evening. Erin was playing Regan's recorder. (plastic clarinet looking instrument) She tripped and and the recorder hit the ladder of their bunk bed knocking her front tooth forward. This tooth was eventually going to have to come out but I don't think it was quite ready. Poor Erin had to have it pulled tonight. There was quite a bit of blood....poor Erin!

I have no idea how she is going to eat for a while now she has the hugest space in the front of her mouth now with no front teeth! Those bottom ones are hanging on for dear life even with the grown up teeth behind them sprouting up!

Snow day

I gotta know, are we back in Alaska? This is waaaay too much snow! Christian will be happy when he gets off work to see the surprise Santa left him. Looks like he got his wish and we will have a white Christmas after all. I have to tell you the big difference from here and Alaska though is that the road crew in Washington have no idea how to handle this! The roads are pretty slick! But the kids enjoyed it!

Regan's masterpiece

This is Regan's gingerbread house I promised you a picture of. Didn't she do a good job? She said the teacher used milk cartons on the inside to hold the structure up which I thought was a brilliant idea! If you look to the side of the house Regan pointed out to me there is a gingerbread man there who had a sledding accident. I just love her imagination!

What is the best gift you bough this year?

We bought this for my brother in law Ryan. I think it is hilarious and love that it comes WITH the bag of marshmallows! It is a marshmallow shooter. I can see him getting a kick out of it!

Also found this extremely fun item for hubby. It is a chocolate milk tornado. You put all the ingredients in the glass and then push the button on bottom. A tornado action mixes to make your glass of chocolate milk. Fun huh?!

Can you tell I love to shop for gifts? It's so much fun! As my dad says I should be a professional shopper or something. Too bad I can't get paid to do it....wait maybe I should start a blog with my sister, who is really good with numbers, on shopping deals......what a great idea! ;)

PS don't worry neither of these guys stop by here so this won't give away their Christmas surprise ;)

Story from a couple years ago

I just thought of this story that actually happened about 4 years ago when we were still living in Ohio, but I gotta share b/c it cracks me up every time I think of it!

As many of you know Jordan is a person who thinks outside of the box. He has a brilliant mind but has some problems following directions. If it's not his idea he literally cannot fathom up another way to do it. So when he was about 11 I decided that Sunday evening dinners were going to be his job. I bought Hamburger helper and Tuna Helper dinners. I told him to step by step follow the directions and all would turn out. So one Sunday evening this is what happened. . .

Mooooom the directions say to add 2 1/2 cups of water but our measuring cup only goes to 2 cups what do I do?

Moooooom the directions keep saying add noodles. Where are these noodles they speak of. ME: did you look in the box? Jordan: oh nevermind....

then Erin only being a year old at this time I had to change one heck of a messy diaper. At the same time I hear Mooooom. After the last two questions I'm thinking geeez what now? I tell Jordan your going to have to wait a minute I'm in the middle of something here. Jordan says it's kind of an emergency!! So I quickly finish changing diaper, come into the kitchen to find....

What looked like a scene from CSI!! Jordan had sliced his finger on the tuna can REALLY deep! As I walk in he is flinging his hand all over the kitchen and splattering blood all over the floor, the counters, the ceiling. I say Jordan STOP you need to apply pressure to it! He then grabs it and squeezes it and more blood. Uggh!

Needless to say we didn't end up having Tuna Helper that night. We grabbed McDonalds on the way back from the ER! Can I tell you I was cleaning up blood for weeks after that? I found it on top of the fridge and even the next month when I flipped up the calendar apparently the page had flown up and got splattered into the next month!

This is the life with a brilliant minded child. He can do Calculus problems that would blow your mind but open a can of Tuna...umm I don't think so ;)

I feel so blessed this year with all the wonderful things we get sent to us! The girls were thrilled when I won this giveaway from Olive Kids of this canvas. Look at how they personalized it with each of the girls name and even put a brown mermaid in the picture for us! This is all done on the nicest canvas. Quite impressive! Thanks Olive Kids! Can I tell you that I have two little girls that adore the color purple and were thrilled to see the mermaids had purple hair!

Zoo Lights

We went this past weekend to the local zoo. They had decorated the entire zoo in Christmas lights. It was quite the sight!

Regan's Christmas performance

Regan's age group put on their Christmas performance today for the 11:00 service at church. She performed with the bell choir and did such a great job! You can tell she is concentrating so hard . . .it's so cute! Then she sang with the rest of the children as they told the story of Jesus's birth. Beautiful service!

Erin and Maggie play time

Erin and Maggie are the best playmates. How funny is this watching Erin blow the bubbles while Maggie tries to catch them?!!

SUGAR

So I have to share this story about our little Erin who has the BIGGEST sweet tooth! We were all watching How it's Made the other day. They were doing an episode on how they make taffy. They pulled out a big bucket full of sugar and started dumping it in. Erin stood up and said WOW that's a lot of sugar!! Her eyes were the size of saucers and she had that dazed look on her face like she was in love! This girl has a serious sweet tooth!

Fridays Fave Five

Regan was looking at our blog the other day and said mom what happened to your Fridays Fave Five? So I guess I am going to work on bringing it back ;)

1. I finished my classes this week. Woo Hoo!

2. Christian has the weekend off. That never happens! It was so nice to have him around we even took the girls to see the Zoo Lights (stay tuned for pictures)

3. Holy Moly did you guys see how many comments Steals and Deals got on the 12 days of Christmas celebration? We went from 40 followers to 115 in two weeks!! It's so nice to see our baby grow!

4. It snowed here for the first time this year...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmmasss

5. Regan brought home the most incredible gingerbread house she made at school. I can't believe it made it home off the bus in one piece! (pictures are coming don't worry)

Erin performed in her first concert this past Sunday at church. We are blessed to go to a church that has such a HUGE group of kids in the Sunday school program that they had to divide it little kids k-2nd grade one week and next week big kids 3-6 will do a performance for the parents. They are just so stinkin cute at this age! I loved that there was a little guy in the front that kept pulling his sweater up to sing through the whole performance. (always funny when it's not your kid!) Cracked me up that his mom had gone to so much work to put him in the most adorable little sweater vest combo and there he was showing us all his naked belly. Did his momma's heart proud I'm sure! ;)

I had to laugh though to think that my baby Erin who came into the world at only 5 lbs was one of the tallest there and placed in the back row! I don't think anyone would have guessed she was such a tiny baby! She did a great job singing and waved at me every chance she got!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Football banquet

We really enjoyed getting to see Jordan receive his awards and recognition at the of the season football banquet this year! It was a lot of fun. His coach received The Coach of the Year award from a local radio station so they sent down some of the cheerleaders from the Seattle Seahawks. All the boys posed for pictures with the cheerleaders. They are a really fun group of boys!

Wizard of Oz

I went as one of the parent helpers on a field trip with Regan's class to Seattle to see the Wizard of Oz play. It was a wonderful play and I got blessed with a group of the sweetest girls! This little girl sitting next to Regan is her best friend Delayla. She is a sweetie!!
