Glitter girls

Erin and I crafted today. I so enjoy one on one time with my kids! I saw this idea on another blog and thought I need to try this! So Erin and I glittered some pumpkins. Didn't they turn out pretty?! The only thing is one of the reasons I rarely work with glitter is THE MESS! Erin was so sweet when we were done she got the broom out and started sweeping. I looked up and said Erin what are you doing. She says this stuff is EVERYWHERE! She picked up the broom and said Oh mom it just made the broom all shiney. She then got out my swiffer. I told her Erin it's okay mommy will clean it up later. She said so sweetly but mommy I really want to clean it up for you! I let her clean up what she could and told her not to worry. Let's just say my house is very sparkly right now ;)

Helpful Raker

Regan was raking up a pile of leaves to jump in and Erin decided she would give a hand with her sand rake. BIG HELP ;)

Should I worry about this child?

Erin came back from a birthday party and this was her craft project. They each made a candle. I didn't even know what to say!

Mom what's the big deal?

Jordan came home from all night lock in youth event at church and got in the car and said Mom something happened last night. I turned to look at and said What? Oh MY GOSH JORDAN! His response Mom don't make such a big deal about it! Its just a chipped tooth.
This is the best picture he would let me take.
Mom is NOT happy!

Erin's day at the pumpkin patch with daddy

Erin had a her first field trip this week to the a local pumpkin patch with her kindergarten class. Since it was a homework/test day for my online schooling and daddy had the day off school guess who got to go with Erin? Daddy! She was thrilled to have daddy all to herself and had a great time showing him!

Mom is a big ole meany ;)

So I decided I REALLY didn't feel like sticking my hands in those pumpkins this year and digging out that disgusting pumpkin goo. So I told the girls that if they wanted to make a jack-o-lantern they were going to have to
enjoy the full experience and dig it out themselves. So let me tell you Regan did an excellent job of digging out those guts and with very little help from mommy she also did a great job cutting her jack-o-lantern. Erin well.....decided that painting was more her thing ;)

These is my Words

My sister Mandy from Discursively Happy blog introduced me to this book and I just absolutely adored it! It is the story of Sarah in the pioneer days. The adventures and trials she went through as they traveled in covered wagon from Oregon to Arizona during territorial times. I know this may sound hmmm well educational but let me tell you the part of the story that I swooned over the LOVE story! Let me tell you I despise love stories too but this one is the exception! Another aspect of this book that I really enjoyed was in the beginning Sarah could barely read. She taught herself how to read and valued education as a most precious gift. As the book progresses on from this one and to the two that follow this one Sarah's Quilt and The Star Garden you see how grammar and knowledge and even maturity progresses over time as this is written in a journal format. I grew to love so many of the characters and cannot imagine the things she endured but I also learned a lot about the power of doing the right thing at all costs and also the value of the relationships of family and close friends in our lives. This is a book your just gonna cherish!

Regan's birthday festivities

We had a My Little Pony extravaganza of a wonderful birthday party at this adorable gourmet cupcake shop. The girls all really enjoyed themselves. We saved presents from us and family to open with daddy and Jordan since they both had work and school. Then went to Regan's favorite restaurant Denny's (ICK!)
She had a great day thank you so much for all the lovely birthday greetings she got a kick out of them all!

Apparently Jordan has a new nickname....

On Thursday nights we have a family dinner with Jordan's football team each week. First we eat then they give out awards for the past game on who made great plays and the boys each get stickers to wear on their helmets to show everyone their achievements. These stickers are pretty big deal at his school! Anway as I previously stated in the last post Jordan scored two touchdowns last week so we have been waiting (im)patiently for him to finally get his turn at the stickers and were pumped and excited to see him get his awards tonight. So the coach goes up there and said and this player scored TWO touchdowns for us this week come on up here....LIGHTNING Meyer!
Can I just say I love it?!!
By the way more info for those of you that want to know. Jordan is a running back and I asked him how many yards he ran to score his touchdowns. The first 10 yards the second 35!!
{Proud mama}

Pause for a bragging mom moment....

Jordan scored TWO touch downs at their game on Monday night! That boy better get a sticker for his helmet at the Thursday night dinner!! I'm so bummed I won't be there to see it....parent teacher conferences uggh!

Pure Bliss

Ever catch your child having one of those moments you can tell they are in pure bliss? Erin always seems so happy when she is soaking in the tub. But let's be honest what girl doesn't enjoy a nice warm soak in the tub? I often wonder as I see her laying there with that peaceful look of happiness on her face what she is thinking of. What happy thoughts do 5 year olds have awww pb&j, more cartoons, video games, riding my bike, having fun .....wait these are all GREAT thoughts aren't they?

If you don't see any posts for a while

this right here is the culprit! This online schooling is a bit more time consuming that I thought it would be. I have the hardest time really concentrating and studying with every 2 minutes ummm mommy can I have an apple....2 minutes later mommy can you cut the apple into little slices....2 minutes later mommy can did you know I found a leaf on my shoe....2 minutes later mommy do you think it's going to rain
You get the idea. I'm thinking I may be able to get a little more done next year when their in school all day every day. Until then sorry I gotta go slice an apple.....
