Me: Hey Erin why did you just rip little pieces of toilet paper and put them all over the bathroom floor?
Erin: I didn't know....
Me: You didn't know what?
Erin: I didn't know you were watching me.

DVR age
Sometimes I REALLY hate (and I don't like to use that word very often) the age of the DVR!!! My youngest has no idea what it means to sit and wait for the show to come back on for commercial break. I turned on the TV for her this morning Dora was in the middle of an episode. I thought okay here you watch this mommy needs to clean a little. She should be happy right...WRONG she started to cry b/c she wanted me to rewind it to the beginning. I couldn't do that b/c we turned it on right in the middle. Ugggh I hate to say this but if they only had any idea how lucky they were! Remember when we only had cartoons on Saturday morning? Man I'm getting old.....

Yipppeee!
AFTER
Okay let me remind you we are a military family that moves about every 3 years sometimes more. Curtains are often the bane of my existence! That being said I ordered these curtains (once again) after we moved to Washington. (I hate the measuring and searching to find ones we can afford in the right color and what not!)Anyway I had a very hard time finding these measurements. Finally decided on these because they were the right width. The height was a bit too long but I thought Oh well we will just hang them higher right? Well I tried to explain this to my husband and it some how got lost in translation. The first picture is what I have lived with for the past year! My curtains have hung on the floor for almost a year. I don't know what convinced my husband this time but I some how talked him into FINALLY raising them. Awww the small pleasures in life. Don't they look nice?

Hypothetical question.....
If you were randomly given $1,000 to spend on anything. What would you spend it on?
-go to McDonalds and say I want one of everything!
-buy some expensive jeans that fit and not care about the price tag?
-get your husband that new electronic whatsit that he has been dying for?
-the options are endless here now your turn to give me what you would do......

Horatio DEAD
Please tell this is true! I really wanted to watch this show CSI Miami but I just cannot stand the actor David Caruso. He is the absolute worst over actor I have ever seen! He is like finger nails on a chalk board!!
Can you tell he annoys me?
I just read that he might have died in the season finale of last year. If this is true I can finally watch this show! Yippee!

Friday's Fave Five
I am going to share five of my favorite things that happened this week:

1. I was super thrilled to find these two journals for my daughter of all the places can you believe I found them at Hot Topic online? Crazy huh? Both my girls adore Pokemon. They are both VERY into rainbows lately so this Pikachu one was a must. Erin sings this silly Jigglypuff song to herself all the time and so I knew I had to ge that one for her as well. (Jigglypuff is the first pink character for those of you that don't know) If these little journals weren't perfect enough find to add to their Christmas presents I also found a code for $10 off my total which made them only $1.98 each!! (you know I love a good deal!)
2. I got to watch my Jordan play a home game of football this week. It is very nerve racking for the moms watching their babies out there getting pounded into. I was so super excited when I saw he almost scored! I was so happy I turned around with a goofy grin and said to Christian this is exciting huh? He gave me the smile like yeah all right you need to calm down a little ;).

Regan and her many many MANY questions
Regan is at this stage right now where she asks about a 100 questions a day or more. They usually are things I have no idea the answer to or just well let me just give you some examples of just one car ride with her
Hey mom-
Why do we laugh when someone touches our armpits or feet?
I say well I guess b/c our nerves are very sensitive there.
What do nerves look like anyway? Do they look like nerd candy cause that would be kinda cool. (happy giggle)
What color are nerves?
I'm not sure Regan.
That's probably a better dad question right?
Right
What kind of questions can I ask you? I got one..Mom if you had to do a job and daddy was the one to be our home carrier what would it be?
A librarian
You would DO THAT just for the MONEY?
I'm not even sure what you mean by that and what you want me to say here.
Just answer the question mom!
Okay do you see my point here. These conversations are not even making sense any more! Is it horrible that I tell her listen mommy just needs to concentrate on her driving right now. Can we talk about this later?

Thursday night Family dinner night for football
Thursday nights Jordan's football team has this really nice event called Family dinner with the team. Its such a nice event. The parents all commit to helping with one night of the dinner in either funding or actually cooking and it works out. We all eat and then after the meal we stay for awards and coach's comments about the week. After all this takes place is the time for parents to ask questions of the coaches and what not. Well all this being said I have to tell you about our last Thursday dinner. I was walking by one of the coaches and he asked me if Jordan was enjoying the season and if I had any questions. I assured him that Jordan was having a great time and I didn't have any questions. Regan then pipes up and says I have a question. (mental head slap here OH NO, she is at that age where you have no idea what is going to come out of her mouth or maybe it is just a personality trait anyway) The coach or let me say the HEAD coach then leans down and says what's your question sweetheart? Regan says I want to know why my brother didn't play in the last game. (great this is really going to help him get play time! ) He then smiles and says well here's the thing Jordan is pretty new to us and he is still learning about all our plays and how it all works. But don't you worry I promise you will get to see your brother play this season.
I thought that was super sweet of the coach to be so nice about it. I whispered as we were walking past I swear I didn't put her up to that. He just smiled and nodded. I'm still not sure if it was a nod of I understand or YEAH right you didn't set her up. [sigh]

Lesson in how to be cool
I got a lesson tonight in how to be macho cool from my husband. Monday nights Jordan plays JV football. Tonight was a home game. We all went (they won 32 to 6). After the game we needed to tell Jordan we were going to run up to Taco Bell and come back and pick him up. He was coming off the field and walking to the locker room making no attempt that he was going to acknowledge we were right next to him. So what would you do? .......
I hollared JORDAN and did the come here sign with my fingers. He rolled his eyes and came over and got his message.
I say to Christian geeez you would think I embarrassed him or something. He said well you did you yelled like a GIRL! I said well I am a GIRL! What would you have done. He said I would have done it all cool and macho and looked him in the eye and just given him the nod one time and he would have come over to the car.
I pondered this for a moment and said hmmmm I just don't think I could pull that off. I am just way too cute and femine for that ;)

He's finally HOME!
The day after my parents flew out from their visit Christian was sent out to help out with hurricane relief. He has been gone now for 2 weeks. Why this always happens when we have so much stuff going on I will never know. But don't worry the Lord was watching over me and my children and I was able to get them all settled into school and myself as well with my online classes. We are starting to get in the groove of things. Christian called me earlier this week and was unsure when he was going to be making it back as the hurricanes just kept seeming to come in. Well I was overjoyed when he called me last night to let me know they decided to send him home today. And he's here today actually surprising the girls by picking them up from the bus stop. Yipppeee skippy!

I miss my little Jordan
Now that my son is 16 years old {I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that one} and bigger than I am I sometimes catch myself staring at him wondering where the time has gone. That old saying Life happens when your busy making other plans. Apparently life was going on as I was busy with who knows what...
Anyway I was reading my sister's quotes about funny things her kids have said over the years and it made me think of some of the funny things Jordan has said when he was little. Here are some of the ones I remember. Family-friends please feel free to share any you have...
Jordan sitting at the dinner table at 6 years old very quite and says all of sudden"You know what trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up is hard. I can't decide either I want to be a magician or a game show contestant. I just can't decide."
When he was about two and obsessed with the movie Winnie the Pooh I saw him running across the yard stop all of sudden and do the infamous Pooh pose and tap his finger to his head and say Think Think Think where did you put that toy?
When I had an art teacher tell me at school that he refused to participate in art class at 7 years of age we had a heart to heart about it. I asked him why wouldn't he participate. He said "Mom I just don't see the point to it...how exactly is drawing a picture going to help me later in life?"

Look I did it myself!
Regan came in this morning and said look mom I did my hair all by myself. Well I am all for letting my kids be independant and learn how to do things on their own. But I just couldn't let Regan go to school like this today. She was a bit over accessorized!

Bathroom humor
I know this is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black but I am so tired of the bathroom humor around my house right now! Regan and Erin have both discovered they can make themselves burp and think this is the most hysterical thing. The problem is once they start they can't seem to stop and sometimes we have upset bellys from the excessive burping. {insert eye rolling and mommy sigh here} This is not even close to how funny they think it is just to hear the word fart. I can't even say the word toilet without the two of them cackling. OH my I will be so glad when this stage passes!
