Honor Grad

You know all the hard work that is put in to be a parent.

It is moments like this that make it all worth it!

Look at my boy who will be wearing the ropes that signify that he is graduating with honors!

At the end of this award ceremony I was even more thrilled to learn he had been chosen to receive a scholarship. Still unsure of the amount but quite honestly any money that goes towards his education is just AWESOME!

Regan's Softball season came to an end

Regan had her end of the season softball party today. She had a great season and really became their super star third baseman. She really enjoyed herself and will be ready to move up to the next age level next year. I was lucky enough to get picked to host a House Party. Check it out at the link in green. They sent me stuff for the goody bags and a $75 gift card for Happy Meals for the kids so the end of the season party was all taken care of. So cool!

Good job on a great season Regan!

We are getting close to the end

I had a friend that took some pictures of Jordan and I the night of the Senior Track meet and emailed these pictures to me.

I have been doing pretty good with the fact that my Jordan will be graduating this year. This time last year when he mentioned going off to college I felt like I could hardly breathe. But over this past year I have grown to accept that it is time for him to move on and continue with his education.

Plus being a person that always believes that everything happens for a reason, I have to notice that these crazy situations such as this moving thing always seem to happen at moments like this. (Regan started Kindergarten during one of our moves) So I have been a bit distracted you might say.

Last night we went to Jordan's honor grad's ceremony. I was overjoyed to see my son receive an award for staying on the honor roll during his high school years and even more happy that he was awarded a scholarship. (not sure on the amount we will find out months later) But as they started the speeches about how this is the time you will take that step off your parent's porch into the rest of your life. This is the time for you to make your mark on the world. All I could think was that's it I'm done. I am loosing my baby. And yep the tears couldn't be stopped.

I know he is going to community college next year and will still be living at home for at least the next two years. But from now on things change. I am trying ...seriously I am.

So here is my moment to tell all of you that have helped us along the way thank you so much for helping us in the process of making Jordan the incredible kid (he won't be 18 until July so he is still a kid right?) he has turned into!

Pioneer days field trip

I got to go help this week at Regan's class field trip to a local farm that helps children learn what it was like to live in Pioneer days. They got to see what a one room classroom looked like. They also got to see how small a cabin was that a big family lived in. They also got to experience as you can see below what it was like to do some of the pioneer's daily chores. Regan is working on making an axe handle here.

There was also a barn that had animals that would have typically been on a pioneer's farm the children got to try their hand at milking a cow, chasing and catching chickens, and petting lots of other furry creatures. They also got to jump from the hay loft into a pile of hay.

This is the wagon ride they got to have with Lyle the draft horse. He was a huge guy but very sweet horse. I had a good time getting to see Regan and her classmates. They were a really well behaved class and all really enjoyed all of the things they got to participate in this day!

Jordan's Senior Track night

Jordan has his Senior Track night the other night. We had one of those nights where parents with more than one kid in a sport can understand. Regan had a game and Jordan had a meet. So we had one parent at one and one at the other. I got to be the one to help honor Jordan's ending of his high school track career. Don't you love the action shot I got of him clearing the hurtle?

It was a beautiful day for this very unlike his football senior night were I was soaked to the bone from rain.

Congrats to Jordan, your such a great kid!
