Erin's injury

We went roller skating about a week ago and Erin had a BIG fall. She was doing the fast skate and was turning around to see how far ahead she was and tripped over her own skate and landed HARD on both of her forearms. Here is what her arm looked like right as soon as she got off the floor. Yep that is some floor burn there from the wooden floors.

Since daddy is a nurse we asked his advice he said let's just watch it as there is no bone sticking out and no swelling. So in the mean time the girls went to swim camp and lots of other activities. Erin went along doing all of her normal activities but still bemoaned her aching arm 7 days later. So today I brought her to Urgent Care. They did an X-Ray. The doc said she didn't see anything that jumped out at her but would have to wait for the X-Ray technician to read the results. She sent us home and said she would call if they saw anything to worry about. She sent Erin home with this sling and said she could use it if her arm was bothering her but it was not necessary all the time.

So on we went to soccer practice tonight. As I was sitting watching her practice I got a call from the Urgent Care letting me know the X-Ray is abnormal and that in another 7 days we will need to come in for another X-Ray on her elbow. So who knows she may be in a cast to start out 3rd grade. . .

Now Erin and I are both in a sling! We sure hope Erin gets out of hers sooner than me. Milk it for all it's worth, Erin! Love, Grandma Meyer

She looks very happy about her sling. :-) Kids love their first big injury and then they get ticked they have to use crutches or wear tennis shoes all summer, oh wait, that's my kid.lol! Glad you got it looked at! I am curious to hear what it ends up being.
