My girls so enjoy the tradition our town has every year at the town's anniversary day of sliding down this hill on cardboard boxes. Can you think of a better way to spend an afternoon?

Wonder how this tradition started? What possible meaning is there to it...other than a lot of fun, I mean? Wonder if it is considered to 'safer' than sledding down in the winter snow?
